Strava Metro’s Vision in Action - Connecting People and Communities at Velo-city 2024

As the premium partner of the Velo-city Conference in Ghent 2024, Strava Metro is thrilled to play a pivotal role in this year’s event, centered on the theme of “Connecting People and Communities.” With a vision to see a world connected by movement, Strava is uniquely positioned to showcase how data-driven insights and community engagement can transform urban mobility through Strava Metro. Here’s a preview of the exciting activities and contributions Strava Metro will bring to Velo-city 2024.

Engaging Conversations: Preparing Paris for Summer 2024
Strava Metro is proud to feature a conversation with the City of Paris (session 4.6), focusing on the city’s preparations for the upcoming summer 2024. This discussion will delve into Paris’s innovative strategies to enhance mobility, improve infrastructure, and create a more bike-friendly environment. Attendees will gain insights into how a major metropolis can leverage data and community feedback to foster a more connected and sustainable urban space.

Reimagining the Future: A New Story Around Cycling
Brian Bell, Strava's VP of Communications and Social Impact, will participate in a panel session (Plenary 6) focused on the topic of, ‘Reimagining the Future: Spinning a New Story Around Cycling’. With Strava’s success in growing community and motivating people to be and keep active, Brian is uniquely positioned to share the Strava story and how to keep millions of people cycling every week. Brian will share Strava’s vision of a world connected through movement and highlight the social and environmental impacts of promoting cycling through Strava Metro.

Visualizing the Future: The 15-Minute City
One of the conference highlights will be a presentation by Haynes Bunn, Senior Customer Success Manager at Strava Metro. Haynes will present a groundbreaking visualization of the 15-minute city concept (session 11.6). This model aims to ensure that residents can access essential services and recreational areas within a 15-minute walk or bike ride from their homes. Using Strava Metro’s comprehensive data and analytics, Haynes will demonstrate how cities can implement this concept to promote healthier, more vibrant, and connected communities.
