Yvonne Ehrensberger is the head of Pro Velo Zurich, a regional cycling association, and a member of the board of Pro Velo Switzerland and the Swiss Women in Cycling Network. As a human geographer, she is especially interested in the interaction of people and spaces and has spent her professional life committed to raising awareness of and improving cycling infrastructure. She understands the needs of people who use bikes in their daily lives and provides them with a voice when dealing with authorities and urban planners. From cycling and safety courses to evaluating projected construction and roadworks, she sees and believes in the potential and positive effects that cycling has for individuals but more importantly for society and ecology. She consistently advocates for more and better cycling for all, helping to shape campaigns and cycling policies from the local to the national level.
