I discovered the bicycle as a means to experience the world a bit late… and wow, did I make up for lost time.
Susanna Maggioni is Vice President of FIAB Italia and National Coordinator for Cycle Tourism, working at the intersection of destination management, sustainable tourism and active mobility. With a background in the Arts, and as a translator, she is a certified Environmental Hiking Guide (GAE) and has completed a Master’s Course in Cycling Mobility at the University of Verona, as well as advanced training in Destination Management. She is also a EuroVelo Route Inspector. She promotes cycling as a strategic tool for destination development, local economies and social inclusion. She regularly organises events and conferences and speaks on cycle tourism, mobility policy and road safety. As representative of FIAB within the National EuroVelo Coordination Centre (NECC), she contributes to the planning, governance and promotion of long-distance cycling routes, engaging with institutions and stakeholders to advocate for healthier, more liveable and climate-resilient cities.
