Signe Helledi is Head of the Cycle Superhighway Collaboration in the Capital Region of Denmark, a partnership between 27 municipalities working to expand high-quality cycling infrastructure across the metropolitan area. With more than 10 years of experience working with regional cycling promotion, she has been closely involved in developing cross-municipal cycling initiatives and strengthening political support for cycling mobility. In this role, Signe is responsible for the overall progress of the collaboration and for securing strong political anchoring at municipal, regional, and national levels. She also leads strategic partnerships with external stakeholders to advance regional cycling development. Recently, a major structural reform of the Danish regions has created significant uncertainty for the future funding of the collaboration. Over the past year, Signe has led a significant political advocacy effort to secure alternative funding sources and ensure the continued development of the Cycle Superhighway network and collaboration.
