Sarah is a public affairs and campaigns specialist who has worked on a range of environmental causes, both at local and national level in the UK. She leads a small team at Cycling UK working to influence policy decisions and secure public investment to make cycling an easy choice for more people. Sarah served as an elected county councillor in Cambridge from 2009-2013. She sits on the Board of local cycling charity Camcycle and is passionate about giving more people the chance to experience the joy of travel by bike. Sarah has an Mphil in Environmental Policy from Cambridge University, and for her thesis looked into the impacts of different modes of travel on wellbeing. Her research concluded that yes, cycling is the happiest form of travel!
