Philippe Crist

Mobility thinktavist, Winner of the Danish Cycling Embassy’s Leadership Award for Cycling Promotion -
Paris - France
Increasing cycling will require not just infrastructure, but re-shaping cities such that cycling is the most evident and compelling choice for most people at the times and places where it most makes sense.
Philippe Crist is a recognised international expert on mobility and innovation policies. At the core of all of his work is the conviction that policies must serve people in their day-to-day lives and that technology only helps when it helps all, not just a few. It is this conviction that leads him to place active travel at the forefront of how we frame mobility, efficiency, equity and happiness. Philippe won the Danish Cycling Embassy's Leadership Award for Cycling Promotion in 2016 and was the President of the programme committee for the 2015 Nantes Velo-City conference. A French-American dual national, he is an ex-competitive cyclist and avid mushroom hunter. He does much of his best thinking on a bicycle. He is also Senior Advisor on Innovation and Foresight for the International Transport Forum (ITF) at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) where he coordinates innovation and foresight activities and is the knowledge lead for the ITF’s Innovation Hub, among other things. He was the principal author or co-author for many ITF reports including “Improving the Quality of Walking and Cycling in Cities”, “Towards the Light: Effective Light Mobility Policies in Cities”, “Streets that Fit: Re-allocating Space for Better Cities”, "Governing Transport in the Algorithmic Age", "Mix and MaaS: Data Architecture for Mobility as a Service”, “Safer Micromobility”, "Good to Go? Assessing the Environmental Performance of New Mobility" and “Cycling, Health and Safety”
