Nivesh Dugar is an environmental engineer and a leading advocate for bicycle-friendly cities in Nepal. Since 2009, he has actively promoted cycling as a sustainable mode of transport through numerous campaigns and initiatives. He has led and contributed to movements such as Bicycle Mela, Critical Mass, World Bicycle Forum activities in Nepal, cycle lane development efforts, the Bicycle Act campaign, My Way, and Greenway initiatives. His work focuses on improving urban mobility, reducing emissions, and encouraging healthier lifestyles through cycling. As an International Climate Protection Fellow at the University of Kassel, he conducted research on bicycle-sharing systems and their potential for sustainable urban transport. Currently, he leads the Cycle City Network Nepal, coordinating campaigns, projects, and partnerships aimed at making Nepali cities more bicycle-friendly. Through advocacy, research, and community engagement, he continues to promote cycling as a practical solution for sustainable and inclusive urban development in Nepal.
