Miklós Berencsi graduated from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics with a degree in Civil Engineering, and later earned a Master’s degree from the University of Florida. He has over a decade of experience in the Hungarian transport administration, working across multiple fields and levels. Since 2013, Miklós has been focusing exclusively on cycling-related issues. Between 2016 and 2019, he headed the Cycling Coordination Department at the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, leading national efforts to promote cycling infrastructure and tourism. In 2015, he worked at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport in Ireland on cycling, tourism, and sustainable transport projects. Since 2019, Miklós has been serving as a Senior Advisor and EuroVelo Coordinator at the Active Hungary Development Centre, contributing to the advancement of active and sustainable tourism. Miklós is a father of three, a passionate gravel cyclist and coffee enthusiast.
