Melania Braghin graduated in Building and Urban Systems Engineering in 2014 with a thesis on the “Biciplan,” developed through the participatory project “I like my bike” promoted by the Municipality of Rimini. Her work helped shape the “Bicipolitana,” a strategic cycling network integrated into the city’s Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP). After five years in the private sector, she joined Rimini’s Mobility Department in 2019, where she now works on sustainable mobility in all its forms. She coordinates mobility management policies, manages regional, national and european funds on sustainable mobility and for bus fleet renewal, promotes shared mobility services, and pilots last-mile logistics using alternative methods. She also contributes to European projects encouraging cargobike use and collaborates with schools to promote walking-buses (pedibus). Her vision? To make urban mobility smarter, more inclusive, and environmentally friendly.
