Maria Clara Trujillo is a Colombian urban designer and Design Lead at the Global Designing Cities Initiative (GDCI), where she leads the design and technical strategy for the Bloomberg Initiative for Cycling Infrastructure (BICI), a global program supporting cities in delivering first-of-their-kind cycling projects that challenge the status quo and put people first. In this role, she works closely with the GDCI team, local leadership, and practitioners as a technical advisor, helping cities reimagine their streets through inclusive and equitable transformations. Her decade of experience is rooted in the public sector in Colombia, including Medellín's renowned urban transformation, where she worked as an architect. Her work included the expansion of the cycling network in the 10 municipalities of the metropolitan area and contributing to the design and implementation of the award-winning Parques del Río. Maria Clara holds a B.Arch from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and an MSc in Transport and City Planning from The Bartlett, UCL.
