Hemmo Rättyä is the CEO of the Finnish Cyclists’ Federation (Pyöräliitto), a national NGO promoting cycling in Finland and supporting a network of local cycling advocacy organizations. His work focuses on advocacy, policy development, coordinating cycling-related projects, and collaboration with national stakeholders to advance cycling as an everyday mode of transport. Hemmo’s background is in social work and developing inclusive community activities for marginalized groups. He first became active in cycling advocacy through a Bike Kitchen project, helping establish communal bicycle workshops in Finland. When he’s not working on cycling policy or projects, Hemmo also enjoys riding his bicycle.
