Chiara Di Majo holds a degree in Environmental and Territorial Engineering. She is currently Head of the European Projects and Environmental Sustainability Unit at Roma Servizi per la Mobilità, the Agency supporting the implementation of Rome urban mobility policies. Since 1998, she has worked in promoting EU funded research and innovation in sustainable mobility. After an initial experience at Atac S.p.A., the public transport operator, she joined Roma Servizi per la Mobilità in 2010. Her work focuses on monitoring European and international initiatives on sustainable urban mobility, securing funding for the implementation of Rome’s Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP), and reducing the environmental impact of transport. She has participated in more than 30 European R&D projects, holding coordination and technical responsibility roles. Since 2000, she has actively contributed to promoting the City of Rome within major European mobility networks, including POLIS, Impacts, Eurocities and CIVITAS. She is currently involved in the Upper Mission Cities Projects and has been an independent expert for the European Commission since 2004.
