Carlo Michelacci is graduated in Civil Engineering - Transport Section from the University of Bologna and began his career as a freelance professional. For twenty years, he worked as a consultant then, in 2005, he worked within the Municipality of Bologna. Until now, Carlo has continued his professional career in the following fields: urban and interurban mobility infrastructures; planning and direction of civil works; transport planning; direction of the traffic control centre; realization of public transport, pedestrian areas and restricted traffic areas. Since 2020, he has been the Manager of the Mobility Sector of the Municipality of Rimini and holds the position of Velo-city Director for the city. He believes the future of mobility goes through the Smart Cities, and over the years, he has promoted the development of ITS and cycling mobility as the best way to get around city centers in a healthy and sustainable way.
