Brecht Vercruysse is the Belgian Federal Bicycle Manager at the Directorate-General for Sustainable Mobility within the Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport, a role he has held since October 2021. He works on advancing cycling policy and promoting more sustainable and low-emission transport solutions at the federal level. Before this, he served as a Legal Adviser at the Directorate-General for the Environment in the Federal Public Service Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment (2012–2021), where he focused on environmental law and policy. Earlier in his career, he practiced as a lawyer in several Brussels-based law firms, specialising in environmental, energy, administrative, real estate, and spatial planning law. Brecht holds a Master’s degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Environmental Law.
