With over 20 years of experience, I have turned my passion for cycling into a career dedicated to fostering sustainable mobility for the benefit of all society. Currently, in ConBici I work to demonstrate the bicycle's potential as a powerful tool for change, driving public administrations to implement comprehensive cycling strategies while enabling more people to discover the transformative benefits of cycling. I coordinate the Eurovelo National Center and the Iberian Congress of the Bicycle and the City.
Belén Calahorro is a dedicated cycling advocate who has turned her passion for bicycles into a professional career spanning over 20 years. She currently works at the ConBici Technical Office, serves as the EuroVelo Coordinator in Spain and manages national projects such as the Iberian Conference on Cycling and the City and the Territories initiative, focusing on advocacy and regulatory reform. A Law graduate with Master’s degrees in environmental management and sustainable development, Belén specializes in creating training and awareness projects to enhance public spaces through mobility. Her extensive experience includes three years coordinating the Municipal Bicycle Agency of València, where she led numerous infrastructure and promotion initiatives. Throughout her career with NGOs, public authorities, and consultancies, she has spearheaded critical initiatives in ConBici, including the Study on Cycling Mobility and Gender and the public consultation for the National Cycling Strategy. A specialist in cycling training for both end-users and professionals, her ultimate aim is to improve public spaces and ensure more people experience the benefits of sustainable mobility.
