Becky Furuta is an endurance athlete, diabetes ambassador, business owner, and advocate for active living. A former elite cyclist, Becky was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes while pregnant with her second child and racing for a domestic elite cycling team based in Boulder, Colorado. Her diagnosis became a defining moment in her life, deepening her commitment to health, resilience, and helping others understand what is possible while living with a chronic condition. Cycling will always be part of Becky's DNA, and her career on the bike includes winning the 2017 Colorado State Time Trial Championship, where she set a new course record, and placing sixth in the Women's Professional Criterium at the 2018 Colorado Classic. In recent years, Becky has transitioned into running as her main sport, while continuing to draw on the discipline, community, and freedom that cycling has given her throughout her life. Alongside sport, Becky is the owner and sports vision specialist at Avenue Vision, LLC in Golden, Colorado, and co-founder of the private label eyewear company Yeux&Eye, LLC. She holds a master's degree in Public Health Policy from the University of Colorado Boulder and has contributed to childhood anti-obesity and public health campaigns. Through her athletic journey and advocacy, Becky inspires others to embrace movement as a powerful tool for health, confidence, and quality of life.
