Since June 2023, Annika Hanke has been leading the model project "freiRaum Ottensen – The Low-Car District" at the Altona District Office. Her academic background is in mobility research, with positions at TU Hamburg and TU Berlin, where she focused on integrated transport planning, sustainable mobility, and participatory processes. Her approach is shaped by viewing mobility in connection with public space, climate protection, quality of life, and social participation—seeing it not merely as a transport issue, but as an interdisciplinary cross-cutting topic. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for both scientific research and the practical implementation of mobility transition projects and participation formats. Her main focus is on strategically managing innovative mobility projects, involving diverse stakeholders, and maintaining a balance between clear political objectives, professional planning, and the needs of local communities.
