Anke Schäffner is Chief Policy Officer at ZIV - German Bicycle Industry, which is the association representing the bicycle industry in Germany. She studied in Magdeburg (Germany), Karlstad (Sweden) and Edinburgh (United Kingdom), holding a Bachelor's degree in European Studies and a Master's degree in International & European Politics.
Since 2016, she has been working for the ZIV, based in Berlin. Anke Schäffner is in charge of political affairs & lobbying representing the interests of the bicycle industry, with a special focus on transport policy and infrastructure. Within ZIV, she is also responsible for sustainability topics. Before entering the bicycle industry, she had worked for several consultancies in the field of political communications. ZIV is one of five organisations working together to promote Germany as a cycling nation – coming together as the German Cycling Embassy.
