How can we persuade people to switch from driving private cars to public transport or cycling? How can we design infrastructure in such a way that road users understand what they need to do and are able and willing to behave in a safe manner? And how can we make cycling even more attractive and apply our Dutch know-how in other countries?
These and other issues occupy Alina on a daily basis in her work as a policy and behavioral research consultant at the Dutch mobility consultancy Goudappel.
Originally from Germany, she chose to stay in the Netherlands after her studies – maybe the bike friendliness of the country being one of the reasons why. Even though cycling in the Netherlands already has a pretty high standard, there is still room for improvement. At Goudappel she gets to work on making these improvements a reality.
