Alessandra Tormene was elected to the board of FIAB Italia and appointed EuroVelo National Coordinator for the Italian Network in 2022. She has been an active member of FIAB and a grassroots advocate for sustainable mobility since 2005. Over a four-decade career as a government officer, she has worked extensively in international environments, collaborating with decision-makers, civil society organizations (CSOs), and public officials from various countries. Her work has contributed to the development and implementation of public policies across multiple sectors. At the European level, her expertise includes building strategic partnerships, capacity building, managing EU-funded projects, and promoting citizen exchanges. She has been involved in initiatives spanning education, culture, tourism, sport, business, and active citizenship, supported by EU programmes such as Erasmus+, CERV, Creative Europe, and Interreg. She has a MA in Political Science.
