Cycling professionals, academics, advocates and experts have been asked this question many times: Should cycling infrastructure be built first, or should a demand for such infrastructure – a cycling culture - materialize before any investment in infrastructure is made? In other words, what comes first: the cyclist or the cycle path? The debate will focus on this question and use it as a starting point to help cycling professionals and enthusiasts understand what elements are necessary to foster more cycling, both in the ‘infrastructure’ and in the ‘culture’ realm. The debate will be structured around these main topics, from which it will then expand by integrating inputs from the audience. So come in energized and expect an interactive session!
