Freewheel stage: IPS Group

Each summer, Rimini becomes one of Europe's liveliest destinations, welcoming millions of visitors and hosting dozens of large-scale events. Moving people safely and sustainably through streets never designed for such seasonal intensity is a major challenge. Through a partnership with Populus, the City of Rimini deployed a mobility data management platform to turn thousands of shared bike trips into real-time operational intelligence. City staff dynamically managed parking areas, rebalanced fleets, and set up geofenced zones around key venues, reducing congestion near event sites and improving access to the coast, nightlife, and transport hubs. This storytelling session shares data, visuals, and practical lessons on how shared mobility became an essential ingredient of Rimini's event success.
