The German Cycling Embassy brings together key stakeholders from governmental institutions, urban development, industry, tourism, and civil society to showcase Germany’s expertise in cycling and sustainable mobility. Presented by ZIV – German Bicycle Industry Association for the German Cycling Embassy, this session explores how cycling contributes to multiple sustainability goals simultaneously: reducing emissions in transport, creating more liveable cities, supporting resilient and circular industrial value chains, and strengthening regional economies through sustainable tourism. The session highlights the interdependencies between infrastructure, policy, industry, and tourism on Germany’s way to become a cycling nation. It argues that successful cycling promotion requires a holistic approach and cross-sector collaboration. The German Cycling Embassy serves as a platform to connect these perspectives and promote cycling as a cornerstone of sustainable development.
